Description
Torsemide is a diuretic used to reduce edema (swelling) from multiple causes such as heart failure, renal disease, or liver disease. Use of torsemide has been found to be effective for the treatment of edema associated with chronic renal failure. Torsemide tablets are also indicated for the treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension) alone or in combination with other antihypertensive agents.
Dosage for edema (fluid retention) is 10 to 20 mg taken once per day and the dosage for high blood pressure (hypertension) is 5 mg taken once per day.
